Is Co.MISSION a rep company for filmmakers and production companies?
While we do rep a global network of young filmmakers to create share worthy videos, we don’t see ourselves as a rep company. Typically, reps or agents get deals in place and then move out of the way and on to the next deal. They’re lead generators and deal closers. Co.MISSION is a strategic partner and producer of online videos. During the concepting phase, we brainstorm with our filmmakers to develop concepts that are on strategy, coordinate production, provide distribution strategies to get our videos seen, purchase CPV seeding plans and then track the ROI of the videos we create.
The name Co.MISSION sounds like you charge a commission, what’s with the name?
The name stands for Collaborative Mission and how we work with our global network of filmmakers and innovative companies to achieve one common goal: engage online audiences with #SharableBrandStories.
Does Co.MISSION have big production expertise?
Our stance is that production has changed. It no longer takes a massive team to pull off a high quality online video. And in order for brands to continue engaging their customers online, they need a cost effective production model. We’ve seen that a small talented team (director, director of photography, producer, sound assistant, editor) that’s armed with a DSLR, tripod, lighting and a boom mic can achieve amazing things. And the way things are going with technology today, individuals are now doing multiple roles. The director is also the shooter and editor, etc. We also specialize in authentic, real stories which require a much smaller production team than staged fiction concepts. Take the Misfit Shine Indiegogo video for example: we developed and created that with a core team of 4 people, and enlisted the help of 4 others at different stages of the production process. It was accomplished on a small start-up budget.
How many employees does Co.MISSION have?
We are a scalable collaboration model, run by a lean team including our founder Harrison Winter and Zack Yanger, our Creative Content Producer / Business Developer. The most important thing to us is to be able to offer competitive pricing to our clients, so big brands can produce more video content or so start-ups can afford a polished video. In order to accomplish that, we keep overhead to an absolute minimum. On most projects, we tap into a core creative team and then scale up as needed…on a local and global level.
